How to calibrate a pH meter

pH is a temperature-depended measurement. This means the sample’s temperature directly affects the accuracy of the reading. A correct pH measurement always includes the temperature of the sample.

For precise calibration, temperature must be factored into the calculation. Modern pH meters use electrodes with built-in temperature sensors, which automatically perform this compensation.

For trouble-free pH measurements, it is best to use a combined pH electrode with a built-in PT1000, as this is the industry standard.
