Crude oil is a highly complex mixture of hydrocarbons and other compounds that through desalting, distillation, desulfurization, and conversion is transformed into higher quality hydrocarbons such as liquefied gas, gasoline, diesel, heating fuel, and lubricants, as well as a large variety of other products. The refinement process is demanding and requires precise and reliable analysis.

This brochure gives an overview of the different parameters of interest, which can be analyzed by methods such as titration, ion chromatography, voltammetry and CVS, or NIR and Raman spectroscopy in the lab or integrated in the production process. The overview is structured according to the different production steps and final refined products.
