Inks can be solvent-based or water-based. Water-based inks are composed of a mixture of water, pigment, and water-soluble solvents. The amount of water affects the quality of the final product and is therefore an important quality parameter. Determination of water content in ink is possible with Karl Fischer titration, as shown in this Application Note.
